atakero that is not the right attitude. i think the problem with filipinos - a lot of them are just too lazy and have no motivation. 60 years ago the Philippines was the 2nd richest country in asia, now even vietnam will soon catch up. what happened? i know the corrupt government of marcos should be blamed, but not much has changed since he left - because filipinos don't want to work anymore to make their country better.

Let me give some examples...philippines is the largest rice importer in the world, even though it can perfectly grow its own rice and is even famous for its rice terraces. I agree the government is incompetent, but if people really cared about their country they would try all they can to make it better. Importing something that you can easily grow yourself is beyond ridiculous.

60 years ago South Korea was even worse than a third-world country. It didn't have any natural resources. South Korea's government has been and still is very corrupt. But the Koreans love their country and they worked hard, now they are very rich. So you see it is not impossible, you just need to work not only for yourself, but for your country.
