black metal, whatever......but all the bands that would eventually become known as black metal bands were pretty much just thrash bands who wrote lyrics about Satan and the occult. That's pretty much what black metal is

when teh first thrash bands of the 80's came alogn it was a big jump i definitly love megadeth but whyd they have to be such biased people, "every genre of metal suxx unless its always heavy and always fast, so we made thrash which is the only good genre" tahst basicly what they were saying. i mean look at pantera they were awesom and heavy and all that, but dime was very musicly open minded and loved all metal

you are talking bullshit. NWOBHM is not a genre ia just a wave. Although bands have similarities their sound varies from heavy rock, AOR , heavy metal and some speed metal.
Venom is black/thrash to me the first wave of black metal including Bathory, Bulldozer, Celtic Frost and bands like these. This is a different genre it is not thrash metal.

hey man, venom is not my favorite band, but fuck yeah i respect them and no they are not black metal, they help inventing it, but their style is totally different to black metal, and they were there before kill em all, infact metallica opened for them.

None of the early black metal bands sound like the crap we have today because they all played a darker version of thrash and traditional metal. However Venom coined the term in one of their songs called "black metal" same thing with Possessed they coined the term death metal

lol, what is your point exactly? That there were thrash metal demos before Metallica released their debut? That's true, but why does that not make "Kill Em All" the first thrash metal album? You do know the difference between a demo and an album do you?

1. Overkill made ... ( 1 week ago by LTBiermacht)
1. Overkill made the first demo in 1983 and it was a Speed Metal demo. And first Metal Church's demo isn't full-thrash metal
2. Demos are not full-lenghts
3. Metallica made the first demo in 1982
4. If you want to mention another band that can challenge with Metallica's scepter of the first Thrash Metal band in the US side, that band is Exodus.
Punk groups like ... ( 6 days ago by patr70)
Punk groups like G.B.H. had lively and wild energy. DRI, Circle Jerks, Cro Mags, ect were so damaged. It was like how much lower can you go? How much lower could a band have gone then the hardcore punk bands? The answer is nobody was as low.
