Downloading on your PS3 is just as safe as your PC. If not safer since your PS3 really only supports media downloads.

It is usually 7, sometimes less sometimes more. I've see ID's with 8 digits in the past! Remember, your PS3 likes to add a space after the ID or URL. Remember to hit L1 to remove it, then hit Start again.
