drese1206, I don't think so, man. vocal range of Steve Perry is good but Arnel's vocal range is way way better and can hold high notes with ease while Steve find it hard to hold high notes longer. Quality of voice very similar. Jason Paulino?... forget him.

ichirorock, Oh, that's what you think? How come (Arnel Pineda, lead singer of Journey) all tickets for their concert tour in U.S. were sold a month before their actual concert. You might have problems with your hearing.

Man he is a brilliant singer .... Steve was great and he is the only true journey lead singer (my opinion) but i highly appreciate Arnel Pineda ... His voice is at least as unique as Steve's is (was) ...

rachellemaymanalo, Jason Paulino is the frontman of the cover band Evolution. They cover mostly Journey songs. But i truly believe that Arnel's voice is better and has more range, i guess the reason why Neal Schon hired Arnel!

A Jounrey Tribute Band Lead vocalist that Drese something is promoting. Do a youtube search by typing Jason Paulino. Drese thinks JP is way much better that AP and a good replacement of SP. AP and JP is like apple and orange. AP and SP are the real comparison. Maybe he Drese are Jason are lovers?

grffingshost: I meant no disrespect. I wrote a lot of times that Jason Paulino is a good singer but when Drese wrote a lot times that JP is way better than AP that is too way out of line. And JP is a better replacement of SP than AP is another way too out of line. Maybe my off cuff remark that Drese and Jason are lovers are also too way out of line. For that I apologize.

I saw the plugs for Jason Paulino on AP's videos, so out of curiosity, I checked out his band's YT videos & even went on their MySpace page. I think he's a great singer and their concerts are good. As for the claim that he should've been the Journey lead singer instead of Arnel... Remember, Jeff Scott Soto could hit the high notes as well & had great stage presence, but Neal/Jon dropped him anyway. The thing is, Jason, like JSS, doesn't sound like a true Tenor which is what Neal/Jon wanted.
