Well I dont know.. the fact they became successful doesn't make them shit to me. They.. or at least their new records...are kinda mainstream, but thats also bringing black metal to wider audience! I like them. and I don't judge which band's more black or more metal. Let everyobody listens what they s/he likes...

True Mayhem fan? You are one more of those retardeds that think that mayhem ended after Dead and Euronymous death. Have you even heard Grand Declaration of War? Wolf's Lair Abyss?Blasphemer did a great job. And actually, they're on the right way, with Attila Csihar, one of the best Black Metal singers of all time. So stop lamenting about Dead and Eronymous death. Of course they were great, but mayhem isn't dead.

Who decides over it? Does it make bm bands ashamed? Or is it something wrong to get new fans through dimmu and cradle? I think it's ok. If I were a band, I would definitely not mind big audience. It's not like.. Oh, were bm, we want as little fans as possible... and you, dimmu and cradle are such losers to have many :D Ofcs ppl play because of music itself. But isn't playing in a band partly because of getting or having fans? I think if bm had a choice, it wouldnt refuse big audience..

Uhmh, black metablack metal is for those who understand that christianity isn't the only choice. It's about the ideology of folk lore, myths, nature and satanism in some cases. Black metal is for everyone who can understand the ideology behind it and it's a way to bring your soul clearly to your music. It's about you and your feelings about yourself trying to be different from the mainstream.

Mayhem DID end after Dead and Euronymous died. They were the soul, the spark of it all (especially Euronymous). They were there before all those Norweigian bands. Without them, black metal would not be where it is today.
