Had Cliff been with us all these years i have no doubt Metallica would have been the best band out of the past, present or any future band to come. Cliff Burton is remembered mainly because of his influence on the band, and because he died so young. Had he not died, the band would be not be drastically different, because they all took his work and made it their own. Load still would have come eventually due to them getting tired of thrash. I love the man, but no one gives Hetfield, Newsted, Ulrich, or Hammett enough credit because of his legend.

I agree with you about the thrash part. However, if Cliff Burton were still alive today, he would have taken his bass and smashed it over Hetfield's head for singing such retarded lyrics as "love is a four letter word." As far as Ulrich goes, the only credit he deserves is being in the right place at the right time. He's a lousy drummer, and an arrogant prick. Mustaine should have kicked his ass instead.

You don't know much about Cliff Burton I can tell. Lars founded Metallica, so without him, no Metallica. Mustaine couldn't handle the Metallica lifestyle so he had to go. Anyway that's a good thing, becuase he founded Megadeth. Win-win

Seening Cliff'Em All when I was 15 is what inspired me to play guitar. Kirk plays just fucking flawlessly and makes it look so easy. This is the best version of Creeping Death in my opinion. And its just so sick when james says "Thank you very much your fucking nuts" and Cliff says "Your fucking great"

Shit, a totally different band, Newsted instead of Cliff changed everything, the music was affected, there was a big lack of harmonies and melodies after Cliff, the image, forget about it, and the whole felling of a band that didnt give a shit and was just fun and let lose. Long live CLIFF!
