He is using the piano tune from:Werewolves of London by Warren Zevon. (1978). He is also using the guitar riff from Lynyrd Skynyrds:"Sweet Home Alabama" as well as their title to some degree so no he didn't make it up all by himself. He is also using the chorus line used in Sweet Home Alabama by the backup singers in that song.

Believe it or not.....Did not hear this song until we toured Germany & Austria in Oct. 2008. Found this great radio station that played lots of American tunes with a mix of German rock. Interesting. Love this song and it brings us great memories of our trip and of days gone by. Today,11/30, we are celebrating our 34th anniversary. Ain't love grand??!!
