its a great symbolic gesture, but really, I loved ron paul, but now its Obama v. McCain, neither are close to RP, but Obama is the lesser of two evils.

As long as people view a non-major vote as a wasted vote, we'll face 2 evils every single election cycle. I agree, Obama is the lesser of 2 evils, but I'm voting third party for the first time this year as a statement that 2 parties simply CANNOT represent 300 million Americans. It only takes a small percentage of votes for funding of a third party.

PLEASE don't fall into the "lesser of two evils" trap. If you vote for Obama or McCain then they have beaten you. Vote for a third party. Barr, Baldwin, McKinney, or Nader.

i agree, but right now its much too important, i dont think any of the third party candidates(except nader) are really that good this time around, and if Mccain wins we will be in hella more war and increased inflation across the board. I just dont wanna see mccain in office, bo is an idealist and i dont agree with some of his views but his general understanding of the issues give him the edge over out of touch mccain who says the economic problems are in our head, any vote is better than none

philosophiaafricanus, you are a thoughtful and caring person, but your getting sucked in to the lesser of two evils false choice. Obama will be in lock step with Zbigniew Brzezinski. If you are concerned about the Georgia-Russia conflict just wait until an Obama administration, and we can get ourselves into a war with Russia. If you approve of a liberal platform, check out cynthia McKinney. Also look for Obama (Brzezinski) to send troops to Africa, initially for "humanitarian" reasons.

I really like what Baldwin believes, but I'm not sure he has enough experience to run a country... As far as I know, he's managed a church, but not a government office... Can he maintain morality while being beckoned by government and lobbyist influence? But I am most partial to him and Nader.

Just vote third party and if McCain ends up winning, impeach him. If Obama wins and doesn't do anything to help the economy (I mean look at all his new progams he wants to start... can u say: inflation?), then impeach him. If Nader wins, let's see if he can stick to his guns and get Congress to back him up... Americans have more power than they think they do... Their buttons just haven't been pushed enough until now to get up off their asses and do something!

Once again, everyone (from Glenn Beck to Bill Maher) loves Ron Paul AFTER he proves to be right, but at the time he says it, everyone says he is crazy. Example: Iraq Ron Paul was one of only 6 Republicans to vote against the war in Iraq, and as a Republican from Texas, took a great political risk in doing so (unlike Obama who took no political risk). Remember those days, when almost everyone was for the war? Now the majority of Americans think the war was a mistake.
