It doesn't take long to discover that Joe Banister is a buffoon, when he makes arguments that tax deniers have made before and lost and lost and lost again in court. He regurgitates conspiracy theory propaganda in this video, which is an immediate indicator that he's missing some marbles. The Fed rebates to the Treasury all interests it receives from Treasury Securities. The Fed Hoax is just that. The problem is an out-of-control Keynesian Nanny-State Congress since the New Deal.

Banister appealed the disbarment to the Secretary of the Treasury, who upheld the disbarment for the advice given to clients but held that there was insufficient evidence introduced at the hearing that Banister had enough income to require income tax returns for the years for which he failed to file returns. Banister could have filed a further appeal to federal District Court, but chose not to.

The Office of Professional Responsibility of the U.S. Treasury moved to bar Banister from practice before the IRS because of his advice to Thompson and others. A hearing was held before an Administrative Law Judge, and Banister was disbarred from IRS practice, the ALJ finding that Banister had violated the rules for practice before the IRS by his "absolutely wrong" advice to his clients and by failing to file personal tax returns for 1999 through 2002. See IR-2004-5 (1/12/2004).

bosun, did Russo ever pay what was due? Maybe he made the film because he figured out a lot of intellectually lazy fools would pay money to see and the film would make enough to pay off his tax debt. No. He died shortly afterwards of bladder cancer. And by doing so he had the form filled out that permanently gets you out of paying your taxes - a death certificate. Someone else filled it out for him. :-)

You mimic the standard gripe of the tax whiners that they would pay for taxes *if* (which they do) provide for essential services like critical infrastructure (no doubt you'll have to look that up) and education.
