Layne went to rehab 10 different times over 10 different years. But everytime he got out, eventually he would start back on the heroin. Finally around 2000 he just gave up and locked the door to his apartment, never contacted anyone except his dealer and changed his phone number. He didnt want anyone to see him because he knew he was dying. I have seen possibly the last photo ever taken of Layne. I think it was either taken in 1999 or 2000, and he looked so sick. R.I.P. Layne..We miss you...

Opiates, especially heroin, are fucking EVIL. Once someone gets hooked on that stuff, there's very little chance of ever kicking the habit completely. At least Layne gave us some amazing, timeless songs while he lived. Most addicts just die without having accomplished anything significant.

opiate addiction is EVIL in all its forms. hydrocodone(vicadin) is a monster but there is hope. it took me 2 yrs to get my girl off of this shit. seek out the drug suboxone. what a complete nightmare though. stay strong and help the ones you love when they are lost. remember the stealing,lying, and all that other shit that makes an addict do what they do is not them. oh and prayer is more powerful than you think.
