The song starts about a girl and her friends who were having fun when they were in high school (the beer stuff). Then, she goes into how she grew up quickly, married this guy who was never home and basically never paid attention to her anymore. She spends all of her days with her kids. She doesn't have her identity anymore. Stealing kisses is about once being this carefree, young, happy girl. Now, she's an identityless, wading mother and wife. At least that's how I see it.

ashliehardway, I agree with your comment- maybe Faith should have been pictured as a middle-class woman...but I thought it was appropriate to also have her as an affluent woman. It shows that you can have all the material things in the world (all the clothes, hair appointments, make-up that money can buy) and live in a mansion...and still feel worthless and quite lonely. She's longing for love and attention which are priceless and she can't even get that. Beautiful and heart-breaking song.

It's hard to believe Faith Hill would have to steal kisses. But this song represents so many couples who grow apart and branch out in completely different directions and end up with no common ground to stand on.
