i love how iommi adds riffs from another song to the main song, Supernaut/Paranoid, Embryo/Children of the Grave, Paranoid/Heaven and Hell, E5150/After All (The Dead), Orchid/Lord of this World, Sign of the Southern Cross/Heaven And Hell, all great examples from the ozzy era and dio era of black sabbath too bad they didnt do this that much for the gillan era

Black Sabbath's reunions have always been short lived. It's usually just a tour or half a year. They play @ Ozzfest often though.

Why can't bands ever recreate their own sound from the 70's? Sabbath is my favorite band of all time but this doesn't have any teeth or punch.

The reason is that at the very heart of it, Ozzy cannot sing. If he hadn't made an image for himself years earlier and you saw this clown on stage without knowing who he is, you'd likely either walk out or throw something at him. By the way, not all of those older acts suck live; I saw Rush last week and they can still pull of their originally recorded music to a tee. Then again ALL members of that band were talented.

I think this is probably more correct than you know.I remember early Ozzy had a real soulful belting,frog necked voice.I think all the coke he did ate away at his nasal septum which gave him that awful twangy voice tone you hear now.

dude, just because you don't think the Dio era was Sabbath doesn't mean you shouldn't give him a chance, his vocals are amazing. If it makes you feel any better, the official name for the dio era of sabbath now is Heaven and Hell, so just listen to the Dio era as it were a different band featuring former members of Sabbath, you'll enjoy it.
