I have a glass slide bar on my third finger and my middle finger is muffling the side of the bar you don't want to here. I hope that makes sense, not sure if I fully understood he question. Thanks either way.

Is it hard to play or not? It gets much easier if you practice for 30 years. I am tuned to an open D. You should learn to play in standard tuning first. Nothing truly worth while is easy but at the same time this is not complicated. Basically I can't really answer since it will be different for everyone. I practiced allot.

Cool, I started about his age, have 3 kids of my own now and starting to teach my 8 year old. Nothing better for kids then music. You sound like a great dad, letting him pick the direction and you giving the push,,, best of luck, there is a lesson vid on my page, maybe it will help, cheers
