by this time you could tell james was starting to kind of lose his voice, just listen to the original master of puppets in 86 and how high james' voice was, and then listen to 89 and this, he's voice was slowly loosing the pitch, he could still sing all from and justice for all and the black album, but from kill and all and master of puppets, that was a different vocal range.
