It's madness, which is what makes it great. Those of us who are mad see ourselves in it. If you think it's pointless and stupid, it's probably because you are sane and you probably count yourself lucky to be sane, which is fine. The rest of us will continue enjoying ourselves with things you don't understand. Not that we necessarily understand them either, but we enjoy them. There is something we understand, but articulating it to those who never will understand reaps little reward.
