A sign of things to come. Haney, no more than pecs and back, gets a 3rd place gift, in front of 5th place Bertil Fox who destroyed him in every pose - particularly side chest and front & back double biceps. Fox made Haney look like an intermediate.

Freeze at 00:41. Somebody should have told Haney that to use a pose made famous by Sergio Oliva and Mike Mentzer you need ARMS. Forearms, biceps and triceps all below Mr Olympia "winner" standard.

Haney made definite improvements from 1983 to 1984. Arms weren't the biggest but from 1984 and on his thighs and calfs came up a few notches. As for Bertil Fox he was huge but again bodies like Fox rarely do well in top competitions. He's just big but not put together very well.

The thing I love about the era from 1970-1990 is that their stumachs are small and still got a 6pack/8pack. It looks very nice and this is the perfect physique in my ompion. I mean I think bodybuilding should be like a body that everyone wants. This is the body that looks most great!

3:08-11 copy of Sergio's posing technique. No wonder Haney didn't repeat it in '84 when Sergio was there because it was Sergio's to begin with. I do think Lee Haney looks better here than ever because he's more in proportion (evidence pause at 2:23), better than all his succeeding years as Mr. O. Plus his head doesn't look too big here.

Please watch 1988 Mr.Olympia.muscularity symmetry possing he got everything..Ok maybe his arms little bit umm not big so far but he is unbelievable totally.After haney new age opened with Dorian..and with dorian , symmetry is killed ..Look at ronnie he got hugee but also got hugeee stomach :)
