both styles did poorly... it is kyokushin karate vs zui quan (drunk style). the zui quan is done very poorly, very passive and weak(im not sure it ther were restrctions on how hard they hit).

The Japanese were never chinks you fool. And I know the Japanese refined some of the chinese martial arts of kung fu and thank god they did because they made it way better than any chinese art. Karate also inhereted some of the Samurai way too. Karate has way more power than anything that came from China.

Firstly in this vid its not really kung fu, drunken master is a film, and these people seem to be impersonating that style rather than using something real. I have respect for the Samurai way, but this whole kiai thing is a proper joke. I have trained in both karate and kung fu, and karate I got to a brown belt merely by reproducing robotic kata I commited to memory.

I would hardly call karate "refined" chinese art, karate lacks real flow and applications are limited. When I first started kung fu I got decimated while sparring with my karate because it fails at real application, I wish I'd spent more time testing more moves rather than simply learning kata like a robot.

Wow you must not go to any tournaments. At every tournament I go to there will always be a Kung Fu school to rep china and they always finish last or almost last due to its failure in application it man look flashy and fast but it fails you in a real fight. Besides 90% of fights end up on the ground and you need some Karate or judo training to deal with yourself on the ground. So your theory is a joke buddy sorry to say. Go back to Karate and you might learn something important.

Nah on the contrary most kung fu I do doesn't look flashy. You maybe talking about northern styles which are like gymastic skill that is pleasing to the eye. JJ > karate and perhaps also kung fu for groundwork... Ever heard of the dog boxing style of kung fu? Almost entirely groundwork. No thanks, I'll stick to the kung fu, since in my experience it works. If karate works for you, then you stick with yours.

ha!ha!ha! very funny especially that guy in brown jacket. Those blue clothing guys ain't really know any drunken boxing. I don't see any drunken boxing steps, moves and stances there. Possibly a promotion to promote Karate. Real drunken boxing attacks based on gravity going round attack. Watch Jackie's drunken master for guides. It's engineering concentrates on twisting, going sideways and strike hard from above or below. N non-stop action, no halting.

the people doing kung fu arent very practical with their moves. Is that how its supposed to be? The people doing karate spares no time and just goes for it. Maybe thats why Bruce lee created Jeet Kune do to take out the BS and create effective practical moves. Cause if this is what Wushu (kung fu) really is, then I can understand.
