What these people do not understand is that by increasing the supply of money, there is no increase of value. It will only look that way in the short term.
It does not have to work that way. This country did just fine for most of the 19th century without a central bank.

Explain it like this to kids. The federal reserve has the ability to create money from nothing. They make this money from nothing to lend it to you, then they charge you ridiculous rates so that you have to work harder to pay off that loan that they made from nothing. Also explain that the federal reserve is not a government program, it is independent of the government, and lends money to the government. This is where our income tax goes, paying the federal reserve loan rates.

What he never explains is that the original depositer has access to the full $1000 on demand. Meaning that "excess reserves" reprensent money CREATED for the purpose of making loans. Banks create their product with the stroke of pen then charge us interest on it. The biggest fraud in all of history.
