IOMMI vs RANDY vs JAKE vs ZAKKVideo by: metallicaddict13 Video Description: Frank Anthony "Tony" Iommi (born February 19, 1948, in Aston, Birmingham, England) is a guitarist best known for his tenure in the heavy metal band Black Sabbath. He is the only person to have remained in Black Sabbath throughout the band's entire lifespan. Currently Iommi, bandmate Geezer Butler and former Black Sabbath members Ronnie James Dio and Vinny Appice, are touring under the name Heaven and Hell. Randall William "Randy" Rhoads (December 6, 1956 -- March 19, 1982) was an American heavy metal guitarist who is best known for playing with Ozzy Osbourne. Despite his short career, he is cited as an influence by many contemporary heavy metal guitarists. A devoted student of classical guitar, Rhoads often combined his classical music influences with his own heavy metal style. While on tour with Ozzy Osbourne, he would often seek out classical guitar tutors for lessons. Jakey Lou Williams (born February 15, 1957 in Norfolk, Virginia, USA), better known as Jake E. Lee is a heavy metal guitarist best known for his work with Ozzy Osbourne. Zakk Wylde (born Jeffrey Phillip Wiedlandt on January 14, 1967 in Bayonne, New Jersey) is a lead guitarist, pianist, singer and songwriter, best known for his role as founder of Black Label Society and guitarist for Ozzy Osbourne. Wylde was lead guitarist and vocalist in Pride & Glory, who released one self-titled album in 1994 before disbanding. As a solo artist he released the critically acclaimed Book of Shadows in 1996. Wylde's playing is characterised by his liberal use of pinch harmonics and the pentatonic scale. Ronnie James Dio (born Ronald James Padavona on July 10, 1942 in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, USA), is an American heavy metal vocalist who has performed with Black Sabbath, Rainbow, Elf, and his own band Dio. Other musical projects include the collective fundraiser Hear 'n Aid. He is widely hailed as one of the best singers in heavy metal[1]; renowned for his consistently powerful voice and for popularizing the "devil's horns" hand gesture in metal culture (formed by closing the thumb over the middle and ring fingers, while having the index and little-finger extended). He is currently collaborating on a project with former Black Sabbath bandmates Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler and Vinny Appice, which is going under the name Heaven and Hell. On January 17, 2007, he was inducted into the Rock Walk of Fame at Guitar Center on Hollywood's Sunset Boulevard. Ozzy Osbourne (born John Michael Osbourne, December 3, 1948 in Aston, Birmingham, England) is the lead vocalist of the pioneering heavy metal band Black Sabbath and the star of the reality show, The Osbournes. In addition to lead vocals with Black Sabbath, Osbourne also plays the harmonica and synthesizer. As a solo artist, Osbourne has sold over 27 million albums in the US, and 50 million worldwide.[citation needed] Two of his albums, Blizzard of Ozz (1980) and No More Tears (1991), are certified quad-platinum, for sales of over 4 million copies in the US Black Sabbath are an English heavy metal band from Birmingham. The original band line up of Ozzy Osbourne (vocals), Tony Iommi (guitar), Terence "Geezer" Butler (bass), and Bill Ward (drums) is the same as the current line up (2007) although there have been many shifts of personnel over the years. Black Sabbath remain a dominant influence in the heavy metal genre they helped create.[1] VH1's 100 Greatest Artists of Hard Rock ranks them second, behind Led Zeppelin.[2] Currently, the early 1980s line-up of the band featuring Iommi, Butler, Ronnie James Dio and Vinny Appice are touring under the moniker Heaven and Hell, a title taken from the 1980 Black Sabbath album of the same name. into the void paranoid crazy train mr. crowley(crowly) bark at the moon shot in the dark miracle man i don't wanna stop Tags: black e. guitar iommi jake label lee osbourne ozzy quiet randy rhoads riot sabbath society solos tony wylde zakk iommi vs randy vs jake vs zakk Related eBay ProductsNo items matching your keywords were found.Comments for this video: Show || Hide Tell a friend: |

They wrote it.
Then Tony Iommi, He created the heavy metal riff, and Started this all, A great player who skill is generally underestimated.
Jake E Lee next, He is an awesome player, His great neck work is insane, He pulls out a great intro on crazy train live.
And last, Zakk Wylde, He has a true 'metallic' tone about his work, He is a great player and work well with Ozzy, which is the hard part

After that: Meh.
My ranking:
1. Rhoads - obviously brilliant
2. Wylde -
2. Wylde - actually a musical genius IMO, very soulful (listen to his Pride & Glory-stuff). Unfortunately the pinch harmonics-overkill and his need to show off his technical skills often distract from what music is really about.
3. Lee - didn't really fit with Ozzy, but he's a fantastic guitarist. Underrated.
