probably in the thrash metal genre, but no offense to megadeth, i can say because i love this band, there are better metal bands out there, Iron Maiden is my favourite, if it wasnt for them i wouldnt of even knew this band existed, Megadeth however still is an amazing band and Dave Mustaine is a fantastic guitarist and songwriter

Yeah he is without a doubt the best lead guitarist who's ever been with them. The last album he recorded was Risk and I guess the failure of that album gave him enough reason to leave the band afterwards.

Oh and if you think Megadeth stuck to their roots throughout their career you'd better do your research a bit better. Cryptic Writings was produced by Dan Huff, a commercial pop producer. Trust got to number one on the billboards singles charts.

'I was a little bit intimidated by the success we had with Cryptic Writings, so when it came to creating new material after that, it's like being "power-drunk" - you want more. After the success with "Trust", I thought to myself "wow, we've had a number one hit". We'd had four top five hits in a row, so why would I not want to give Dan even more control when it comes to the producing part on the next record?' That's a direct quote from Dave. Now tell me he's not a sellout.
